How is it already 2016?
2015 has been a year full of exciting changes and developments within the College of Health Science. 184 students graduated in the spring of 2015 from our college. We said farewell to our founding dean, Dr. Sands, who is now the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. We gained an awesome new dean, Dr. Pearson, who has done an incredible job throughout all the transitions within the college. We changed our name from the College of Allied Health to the College of Health Science. We moved across the street onto our own campus. 33 students graduated this past semester with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Health Science, and 6 students graduated from one of our master’s programs, in December of 2015.
As we venture into this new year, it is important to not only focus on the previous year’s accomplishments, but to look to the future. Imagine the things we will do this year!
Paul writes in Philippians 3:14, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” We need to set our minds on the things that Christ wants us to focus on: loving others and expanding his kingdom. Here at the College of Health Science our goal is to transform lives through the health professions. This includes the lives of not only our students and faculty, but all those we come across in the field.
This year, I encourage you to “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” – Colossians 3:2. Focus on giving God the glory in everything you do.
