Global Teaching Experience Hangzhou China – Blog Post #2
Ni-hao!!
In just one blink, week 3 of teaching at Hangzhou Medical College comes to an end. Over the past week, several other students of the Hangzhou Medical College celebrated their hard work by coming back from their field work and were welcomed with decorated halls and a graduation ceremony. Our students still have one more week of lectures, quizzes, homework and some of us will be giving our final exam. The weather has been quite warm over the past few days, but the scenic atmosphere and hospitality make everything better. In fact, this week we had the opportunity to share lunch with some of the faculty/staff from Hangzhou Medical College, even though back home we don’t usually share food it is definitely fun to be able to pick from 10 different plates and show off our growing chopstick skills. The faculty and staff have truly been a blessing during our stay in China. This upcoming weekend we hope to be able to take part in a traditional festival known as the “Dragon Festival” a time for family, celebration, and when traditional triangular rice treats are eaten. The festival takes place on Monday, June 18, but three days are given in observance of this holiday. Rumors say that major universities in China have student teams that participate in a dragon boat race as part of this festival. We look forward to experiencing this with our Hangzhou community and look forward to what our last week in Hangzhou has in store for us!
