Global Health Engagement 2018 – Team China CDS Update #2
Day one in Shanghai we had a trip to Disney planned, but our plans quickly changed once the weather took a turn for the worst. We decided to take a tour of old Shanghai instead and had some amazing noodles for lunch. The sites of the city were unreal, and we took the opportunity to rest and get used to the time change. The culture here is so rich, and the people have been so kind. We feel truly blessed!
To begin our training sessions and therapy we took a four hour train ride from Shanghai to Xuzhou. We were welcomed by the government officials, teachers, and staff of the facility. Here we all had the opportunity to give our lecture to parents and teachers. The teachers here were so caring, optimistic, and ready to learn all the information we had to give. After our first full day we were pretty exhausted, but later on got the hang of the full days that would follow. Our last night we were invited out to a dinner hosted by the officials of the facility and celebrated Tessa’s 22nd birthday. Our time in these two cities have been so rewarding, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for us moving forward!
God is so good, and we are so thankful for this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in this place. Please pray for our teams health and energy as we move forward to Lianyungang!
