The BLS states that architects will be needed to make plans and designs for the construction and renovation of homes, offices, retail stores, and other structures. As campus buildings age, many school districts and universities are expected to build new facilities or renovate existing ones. Demand is expected for more healthcare facilities as the baby-boomer population ages and as more individuals use healthcare services. The BLS also states that demand is projected for architects with knowledge of green design, also called sustainable design. The rising energy costs and increased concern about the environment have led to many new buildings being built with sustainable designs.

A Masters Degree in Architecture from CBU will ensure a student gains a deep knowledge of architecture’s techniques, traditions, methods of inquiry and modes of production. In addition, integrity plays an important role when it comes to CBU teaching its students on how to conduct themselves when they start working. This is what makes CBU an excellent choice for individuals who want to become true professionals in the field of architecture.

MBA Healthcare Management Jobs

Individuals who have earned their MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from California Baptist University will find that there are many jobs available for graduates who earn this degree. The two main factors that are creating a demand for individuals with expertise in healthcare management are: 1) The increase of an aging baby boom generation, and 2) the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that has expanded access and increased regulatory requirements for the entire healthcare industry. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of medical and health services managers is projected to grow by 23 percent from 2012 to 2020; faster than the average for all occupations. This strong growth rate makes a career in healthcare management an excellent choice.

Some of the MBA Healthcare Management jobs consist of nursing home administrators, clinical managers, health information managers, and assistant administrators. Each title has its own set of responsibilities, and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, they include:

  • Nursing home administrators manage staff, admissions, finances, and care of the building, as well as care of the residents in nursing homes. These administrators need to be licensed, and each state has their own licensing requirements.
  • Clinical managers oversee a specific department, such as nursing, surgery, or physical therapy, and have responsibilities based on that specialty. They set and carry out policies, goals, and procedures for their departments. They also evaluate the quality of the staff’s work, and develop reports and budgets.
  • Health information managers are responsible for the maintenance and security of all patient records. They stay up to date with evolving information technology and current or proposed laws about health information systems. Health information managers must ensure that databases are complete, accurate, and accessible only to authorized personnel.
  • Assistant administrators work under the top administrator in larger facilities and often handle daily decisions. Assistants might direct activities in clinical areas, such as nursing, surgery, therapy, medical records, or health information.

Workers with MBA Healthcare Management jobs are reported to earn substantial annual salaries. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for medical and health services managers was $88,580 in May 2012. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $53,940, and the top 10 percent earned more than $150,560. These wages reflect where these managers work and how much responsibility they carry. On the other hand, medical and health services managers who work for larger practices consisting of 26 or more physicians had an annual salary of $148,604. Employers include hospitals (local, state, and private), ambulatory health care services, nursing and residential care facilities, and government.

If an individual decides to pursue a career in healthcare management, CBU gives them the necessary tools to excel and lead in this field. What Can I do With a Masters in Counseling Psychology Degree?

Earning a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology Degree from California Baptist University prepares students to obtain a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) license and become mental health counselors or licensed therapists. They will be able to treat children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who suffer from everyday stresses. They can also provide treatment for people who have issues with anxiety and eating disorders.

There are many employment opportunities for licensed therapists in the private and public sector, colleges and universities, and nonprofit organizations. For those who want to work in the private sector, many corporations need the services of a licensed therapist for their human resources department, and for relational employee purposes. As for the public sector, there are many jobs available in community clinics, residential treatment centers, prisons, social services agencies, county mental health agencies, probation agencies, and the armed forces.

Teaching is another option for the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology Degree with colleges hiring adjunct or full-time faculty. Colleges and universities also hire licensed therapists to their counseling centers to treat patients. When it comes to disaster relief, youth advocacy, or child welfare, there are opportunities to work for nonprofit organizations that help in those areas. Many churches have a growing demand for licensed therapists for their counseling centers as well. If an individual wants to go in the direction of running his or her own private practice, the door is open for them. There are no shortages of what someone can do in this field; however, if an individual decides to continue his or her education, completing the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology Degree program meets the admission requirements for most Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) programs in Clinical Psychology.
