Caring for the Body
It’s generally a good thing to focus on your health. Whether it is getting enough sleep, taking advantage of the Rec Center, or saying “NO” to that sixth cake pop at the Caf (guilty as charged), we can all pretty much agree that it is important to take care of your body.
The choices we make to advance our physical health allow us to perform more efficiently and have an all-around better quality of life. Being physically healthy allows us to feel more energized and alert, giving us the opportunities to keep up with life’s many opportunities and achieve more in school and at work. We remember to dedicate all this time to working on physical health, but it’s also extremely important to apply these principals to church health. Thanks to a convicting chapel series, the students of CBU have been graced with the opportunity to remember exactly that.
A healthy church is something that we should constantly strive for and celebrate. Being an active part of a healthy church is vital not only to us as individual believers, but also to the greater body of Christians who strive to further God’s Kingdom. God reveals multiple times in scripture that he loves and values the Church – so much so that he died for it and claims it as his bride. That is pretty intense imagery that calls for an intense response.
If our Creator values the Church so highly, we as his followers should do the same. We should care about our fellowship and our mission to love and serve other people as selflessly as Christ did. He gave us a job to do while we are here, and that is to be completely set apart and influential in being a positive impact on our world. The best way to join in on that mission is to partner with a Bible-believing church and offer all our talents to further God’s Kingdom with them. What better time than now?
