Wrapping up the Spring
With the end of yet another quick semester, you would think that the atmosphere on campus would slow down in preparation for finals. While more students fill the library and Wanda’s with laptops and textbooks to cram for final exams, other offices on campus was preparing for one final event. I’m not complaining, but I have to be strategic this year as to not completely blow off exams.
One of the essentials was Lancer Cup, the finals for Community Life’s intramural soccer season that involved an assortment of exotic food trucks as well as International Service Project teams selling crafts and shirts. I planned ahead to attend Lancer Cup not only to guarantee a free Mediterranean meal (this year being Shawarma) but to also scope out recruits for the soccer team I’ll be making next year. It’s never too early to put together a winning team.
Another go-to was ASCBU’s Recess. As the name implies, the event is a break from studying for students to enjoy food, carnival games, inflatable bounce houses, and the Wiffle Ball Intramural finals. The great thing about recess is that you don’t need to stay long to enjoy the fun. This year’s theme was Carnaval, which meant exotic colors and exotic bird holding. Can’t pass that up.
The last event coming up is the Colony Barbecue, which will be my last RA activity. It will be for all of the Colony and will include Mexican food, piñatas, and even more bounce houses. If I wasn’t required to be there, I would come anyway just for the bounce house. Needless to say, I will not be bored before the start of break. I’ll see you all in the fall.
