Winds, Wooing, Chocolate, and Love
Well friends, it’s early February, so naturally love is in the air. Or maybe it’s just the leafy debris blown in on the Santa Ana winds – welcome to the ever-sunny Southern California!
Regardless of what is in the air, all can agree that CBU is especially exciting this time of year. February brings with it, in my opinion, some of the best events, food, and focuses here on campus. Oh, February, how do I love you? Let me count the ways…
First off, Woo Fest steadily approaches. What is Woo Fest? How does a night of free snacks, classy attire, and free entertainment put on by our talented students sound? If you said awesome, you would be correct. CBU hits the nail on the head with this event, and I am so excited to gussy up and go next week.
The next reason why February is awesome at CBU is the fact that the Caf pulls out all the stops for Valentine’s Day. Now, I may not be the world’s biggest romantic (or the biggest fan of chalky candy hearts), but I am certainly a big fan of good food. Valentine’s Day at the Caf means gourmet food for everyone, complete with chocolate fountain – yes, you heard me, CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN. It is again, one of my favorite things each spring semester brings.
February at Cal Baptist also brings with it a sort of time to refocus. The professors re-emphasis their love for intellect and their love for teaching. Chapel helps all to focus further on loving the Creator and what that implies for daily life. As the work load picks up and everyone settles into their stride, February on campus gives us all a chance to remind ourselves of the various things to celebrate about life.
Because after all, life is worth loving.
