Woo Fest
One of the many traditions we have here at CBU is Woo Fest. Woo Fest is an all-male talent show put on by Residence Life. The main purpose for this show is for the men to “woo” the females at the school. However, this is all for fun. It is just another chance to dress up, witness some amazing talent, and enjoy a night with friends.
Those in attendance got dressed up party style. Party dresses, fun accessories, and glow sticks were the trend of the night. Before the show started, a pre-party was held. That was a time to mingle, snack on some delicious sweets, and take lots of pictures. As the doors opened, we were greeted by men on stilts, clowns, and boys in blue full-body suits, all of whom giving us glow sticks of different colors. The gym was packed from wall to wall with people. The night was ready to commence.
Some of the acts ranged from an a cappella group to soloist and cover artists, some goofy, some jaw-dropping. One that was probably most memorable for me was a group who covered a handful of love songs and incorporated funny dances into each songs. Another memorable group was the a cappella group. One of the leads, H-Dogg, is an incredible beatboxer and can re-create just about any beat he hears. Along with his ensemble of talented singers, their performance was an impressive one.
