In this blog, we’ll explore some effective faith-based coping strategies for managing school-based anxiety among students and faculty at CBU.

Trust in God’s Plan

As Christians, we believe that God has a plan for our lives. When we’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed, it can be helpful to remember that we’re not in control, but God is. Trusting in God’s plan and surrendering our worries to Him can help us find peace and comfort in difficult times.

Photo by Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash

Practice Gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful tool for managing anxiety. Take time each day to reflect on the blessings in your life, whether it’s a supportive friend or family member, a successful project, or even the beauty of nature. Focusing on the positive can help shift your mindset and reduce stress.

Seek Support from the Christian Community

CBU is home to a vibrant Christian community, and it’s important to lean on this community when you’re feeling anxious. Reach out to fellow believers for support, prayer, and encouragement. Attend chapel services or small group Bible studies to connect with others and find comfort in your faith.

Photo by Adrianna Geo on Unsplash

Practice Self-Care

Self-care is essential for managing school-based anxiety. Take care of your physical and mental health by getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, and exercising regularly. Make time for activities that bring you joy and help you relax, whether it’s reading a book, practicing yoga, or spending time with loved ones.

Remember God’s Promises

When we’re feeling anxious, it can be helpful to remember God’s promises to us. Scripture is filled with passages that remind us of God’s love, care, and provision. Some examples include Isaiah 41:10, which says “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand,” and Philippians 4:6-7, which says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Photo by Ketut Subiyanto on Pexels

In conclusion, school-based anxiety can be a significant challenge for students and faculty at CBU.
